Introducing Todd

TODD Eaton (21) is a major supporting character in Adam’s Fall. Son of the Rev. Theodore Eaton, pastor of the 1st Presbyterian Church, is a former friend – and lover – of both Stephan and Ashley who takes quite a keen interest in Adam after Stephan returns to town. Todd appears at several key junctures in the course of the story, turning up the heat and driving Adam deeper into the crises which make the story interesting and cause Adam’s to squirm, and sweat… and grow. Todd’s Fantasy Castings

I keep coming back to Colin Farrell as the ultimate fantasy casting for Todd. His face is beautiful without being abnormally so, his body is hot without being overworked, and he has a range of emotion with a constant, melancholy darkness underneath it all.

Todd’s Archetypes

Todd, Raven, black, leather, are all intertwined as symbols in opposition to Stephan’s pure, blonde, golden, rosy goodness. Stephan is porcelain skinned and angelic, making him all the more powerful when someone unsuspectingly becomes his target for boosting his own ego and making him feel loved.

Todd is not much different, but he is more grounded, is less conventionally beautiful, and so has to rely more on his wits than his other natural talents. But he ain’t ugly either – and he has a rockin’ bod.

Thanks be to God for the insight! Noted Fri, 20 Feb 2009 (22:20).

I just realized that Todd has an Inuit-style Raven tattooed across his back. 17.57 Sat, 21 Feb 2009.

Todd Eaton, Jr., is the bad-boy son of Rev. Eaton. Both Stephan and Ashley take a liking to him, but he has secretly been burned by Stephan’s on-again, off-again sexual relationship with him.
Todd Eaton appeared on the scene Mon, 15 July 2002 as a reason for Ashley to seek treatment for “depression” from Newton.

Todd Eaton, Jr., is the bad-boy son of the pastor of 1st Pres whom both Ashley and Stephan take a liking to.

At the beginning of the story, we don’t know much about Todd except his bad behavior. Later, we find out that he is actually a bright, intelligent, sensitive person. Todd volunteers for the local Rescue Squad in his spare time.

Todd Notes & Miscellany

Old Profile for Todd

Todd’s Profile

Todd Eaton, Jr. (Reverend Todd to his friends), is the bad‑boy son of the Rev. Theodore Eaton, Sr., who does his best to tempt the citizens of Eden, Adam and Stephan included, into the world of simple desire that lies smoldering under the cool, complex exteriors of everyone in town.

Todd’s Unsorted Information

Todd is nicknamed Rev. Todd by his friends to mock him for having a preacher father, but also to acknowledge the powerful charisma he has inherited from his father.

Todd and his father have been gifted with charisma, so much that they don’t know what to do with it.

Todd wants to keep it real.

At the beginning of the story, we don’t know much about Todd except his bad behavior. Later, we find out that he is actually a bright, intelligent, sensitive person.

Todd works a variety of jobs, trying to find his place in the world, and never thinking, seriously, about looking outside of the place that has trapped him. In the midst of the story he works for The Fountain, the only hotel in town, and at other times might work in a bar or in an adult bookstore in the next town over. Sometimes he does it to embarrass his dad, sometimes he does it just because he doesn’t really know who he is. Todd volunteers for the local Rescue Squad in his spare time.

Todd lives in an apartment downtown, above a shop that he has fixed up rather nicely and sparsely into a butch, bisexual bachelor’s pad.

Todd is an Ares archetype. I got this idea from reading Jean Shinoda Bolen’s Gods in Everyman.

His favorite sport to watch is baseball (pitching and catching).

Todd arrived on the scene Mon, 15 Jul 2002 as a reason for Ashley to seek treatment for “depression” and “abnormal sex drive.”

Tue, 06 Aug 2002 (18:09). Todd really is a very bad boy. He comes up to Adam at the reception, and he is the one who leads him out into the Garden to deflower him, and stick his thumb in the eye of the establishment in town. He and Stephan would have been great mates, but they would have been ridden out of town on a rail together. Or moved to Albuquerque.

Fantasy casting: Jude Law from Midnight in the Garden of Good and Evil. Colin Farrell as a physical type.

Todd’s Appearance and Archetypes

Fantasy casting

My fantasy casting for Todd would be Colin Farrell. Noted 26 May 2003.

Todd as the Serpent

Todd is a Serpent/Trickster archetype, but a very earthy, dark, and somewhat malevolent version of it.

Body markings, distinguishing features, etc.

Todd has a tattoo of a serpent, an ourobouros, on his lower back, just above his butt‑crack which Phil, and others have loved to see. Todd refers to it as his “little mark of the Beast” around folks in the know. “The Beast,” of course, is his legendary, uncut, long, thick cock. Noted 26‑May‑2003.

Todd’s History

Todd is born to Rev. Todd Eaton, Sr., and Rev. Mrs. Eaton, who dies in childbirth.[1]

In early adolescence, perhaps after his forced confirmation, Todd dedicates his life to Satan in a fit of rage against his father. He does this in a ritual in front of Stephan and Ashley which parodies their confirmation service.[2]

Todd has had Phil, of course. Someone had to bring Phil out of his funk after Adam disappeared, Anna left and Betty died. And Todd will find a way to console Phil again.

Todd had hoped Phil would be a top, but since it was Phil’s “first time” Phil wanted to get fucked. Todd wants to repay the favor as soon as possible.

Todd, in a rare, drunken confrontation, told his father that he had had sex with Ashley, Stephan and Phil. This occasions, Phil’s removal from the staff of First Presbyterian.
